Family and Couple Psychotherapy
Family and couple psychotherapy are available both separately, and in conjunction with individual psychotherapy. The first session is an assessment session to discuss reason/s for seeking services, to identify specific problems, strengths and goals, and to determine diagnosis/es (if applicable). After the initial assessment, the clinician will share recommendations with the client/s. Recommendations may include starting family or couple psychotherapy with the clinician who conducted the initial assessment. Sometimes the recommendations may include seeing a different clinician and/or participating in a specific type of treatment or service in or outside of MCP. The beginning of family and couple psychotherapy includes the clinician and client/s working together to create a treatment plan and discussing the frequency and anticipated duration of treatment.
Family psychotherapy is covered by most types of insurance or can be private pay. Please contact your insurance company to determine your level of coverage.
Couple psychotherapy is not a covered service by insurance and is only available at MCP by self-pay. Rates vary by clinician.
